How to Estimate Concrete Volume

Estimating concrete requires converting your dimensions (Length, Width, Thickness) into Cubic Yards (yd³), the standard measurement for large bulk deliveries.

Key Conversions:

  • Volume in Cubic Feet: L × W × (T / 12)
  • Cubic Yards: Since there are 27 cubic feet in one cubic yard, divide the total cubic feet by 27.
  • Bags: A standard 80lb bag of ready-mix concrete yields about 0.67 cubic feet (or 0.025 cubic yards).

Always round your cubic yard estimate up to the nearest half yard, as concrete suppliers will not deliver partial batches.
