Create 51 printable targets with precision or general-purpose art, planets, asteroids, silhouettes and classic bulls. Choose 15 paper sizes.
How to use
- Choose General purpose for larger visible scoring regions without extra scoring circles. Robot Strike, Alien Swarm and the new Monster Crew use head 15, torso or shell 10 and limbs 5; seams receive the lower score, maximum 75 for one mark per character. The earlier five illustrated designs score each whole character 10, maximum 50; their painted circular panels are decorative in this mode. Numbers label the whole region, not tiny aiming spots. Background and gaps score zero. Part labels are omitted below a 100 mm drawing rather than crowded.
- Choose Precision on any of the eight character illustrations for fitted vector rings, maximum 45 for one mark per panel. Home-paper drawings up to 186 mm use an outer ring and black bull, scoring 1/5 centrally and 2/10 on the smaller characters. Very small panels simplify to one filled mark; larger paper adds intermediate numbered rings. Small bulls can be only a few millimetres across: read the actual dimensions beside the preview and switch to General purpose when broader scoring regions suit your activity. The artwork does not change when switching modes.
- Precision marks stay inside their calibrated artwork regions; no minimum-size override enlarges circles beyond the art. Oval panels retain their axes and angles. Above a 186 mm drawing, illustrated bulls keep their physical dimensions while additional numbered bands fill larger panels. Below that size the marks shrink with the drawing. Classic measurement grids and geometric scoring layouts are not rasterized or replaced by AI art.
- The older Fun, Treasure, Carnival object and Sport silhouette designs now use original illustrated assets. General purpose scores each whole object by its number, with a maximum of 45 for nine-object boards, 21 for six-object carnival scenes and 1 for a silhouette. Balloon strings do not score. Precision adds local aim circles or silhouette oval bands; only those marks score. Saved design IDs, layout references, paper dimensions and automatic orientation remain supported.
- Choose Precision, Grids, Geometric, Fun, Games, Carnival, Classic layouts, Sport silhouettes or Dart games. Classic layouts include a centre bull and four smaller corners, grid versions and repeated bulls. Six sporting silhouettes include plain and oval-ring outlines, angular and rounded-shoulder variations, and wide boar and duck side profiles without anatomical aiming zones. Automatic orientation matches the shape; choose Portrait or Landscape to override it. These are original designs, not B-27, qualification or life-size replicas.
- Choose Letter, Legal, Tabloid, A4, A3, A2, A1, A0, or 12 x 18, 14 x 24, 18 x 24, 23 x 35, 24 x 36, 24 x 45 or 35 x 45 inch sheets. These are useful office and commercial sheet formats, not a claim that one universal shooting-target standard exists. The picker shows exact dimensions and orientation. Changing paper, design, orientation or targets-per-sheet automatically refits the drawing. Enter a smaller manual size when needed; saved links retain that size until a layout setting changes. Large pages require a matching printer or print shop; automatic Letter/A4 tiling is not included.
- Drawing size measures the whole square area or a silhouette's height, never an individual bull diameter or life-size subject. The size helper shows the actual width and height. Above 140 mm, precision rings hold their two inner bands at the 140 mm design's physical size while outer scoring bands expand. Nested geometric centres and oval silhouette centres also stay compact. Thus a large range sheet gets a useful aiming mark rather than a giant centre. Scoring bands are not equally spaced on these adaptive designs, and they are not regulation scoring geometry. Single-bull outer ring outlines are inset by 1 mm.
- Choose Twenty-sector dartboard, then select Standard scoring, 301 countdown or Cricket under Dart game / printed rules. All three use the same board artwork; only the heading and rules change. The board has traditional numbering, doubles, triples and 25/50 bulls. The 301 option prints straight-in, double-out and bust rules; cricket uses 15-20 and bull, three marks to close and points only while an opponent has a value open. Keep a separate score record. Race to twenty and four-in-a-row also print their paper-game rules. The older twelve-sector Carnival board remains a separate informal game. Number labels on twenty-sector boards are omitted below 60 mm rather than printed illegibly.
- Choose black-and-white or full-colour artwork. All art is loaded on demand and embedded in downloaded SVG, with crisp vector scores and return QR. The 29 vector designs remain sharp at any scale; the 22 art-based designs have finite image resolution. Character scenes are 1254 pixels square, while isolated object assets vary in resolution. Large prints lose detail. New layout changes seeded object positions and game arrangements, not the underlying illustrations.
- Use Print / Save PDF to open your browser's print dialogue. Match the paper size, choose 100% or Actual size and disable browser headers and footers. Do not select Fit to page if dimensions matter. Print and measure the 50 millimetre calibration bar first: browser, printer and driver settings can change physical output.
- Keep Return QR code enabled to print a 25 mm black-and-white vector code in the top margin. Scanning opens this design on toolfluency.com with the paper, drawing size, count, colour mode, layout reference and dart-game choice. Custom titles are deliberately excluded from printed QR links. No account, short-link service or tracking identifier is needed. You can hide the QR code. The readable website address remains on the sheet. Public QR destinations require the matching tool revision to be deployed; keep PDFs/SVGs if preserving older artwork matters.
- Download SVG for a self-contained copy retaining millimetre dimensions, embedded artwork and vector scoring marks. Both the return QR and settings link preserve Precision or General purpose. Copy settings link includes the custom title and QR visibility; the printed QR deliberately excludes the title. Links do not save scores or create an account. Keep exported files to preserve a specific artwork revision.
- Use the printed shapes for lawful recreation at a suitable venue with an appropriate backstop. Paper is not protective equipment or a backstop. Follow the venue's rules and your equipment manufacturer's instructions. Non-projectile uses include pen-and-paper number bingo, tic-tac-toe, dice matching and shape-marking games.
Frequently asked questions
Are these free targets official competition targets?
No. All 51 are recreational layouts or paper game diagrams. The 22 art-based designs offer precision and general-purpose modes; the other 29 retain vector geometry. Sporting silhouettes are not B-27, qualification or life-size replicas. Neither paper dartboard is certified equipment. Sheet size does not establish official scoring dimensions. Obtain the organiser-specified target for sanctioned events.
Can I print full-size range sheets at home?
Only if your printer supports the selected sheet. The studio exports one vector page at its labelled physical dimensions, including large formats such as 24 x 45 inches. Use a matching printer or print shop and measure the 50 mm scale bar. The tool does not automatically tile large artwork across Letter/A4 sheets. Printing with Fit to page shrinks the artwork and changes its dimensions.
Are these reactive or splatter targets?
No. These are ordinary paper printables. Commercial reactive, splash and flake-off targets use special physical coatings; a home-printed PDF cannot reproduce that material behaviour. Full-colour output changes the artwork only.
What does the printed QR code open?
It opens the public Target Studio with the design and settings used for that sheet, including the selected dart rules. The code is generated locally as vector artwork and does not include your custom title, an account ID or a tracking identifier. Hide it with Return QR code if preferred. The tool must be deployed before public scans can load the matching revision; saved PDF/SVG files preserve artwork independently of future website updates.
How do I print at the correct size?
Choose the paper size selected in the studio, 100% or Actual size, and turn browser headers and footers off. Measure the printed 50 mm bar. If it is not 50 mm, correct your print settings before relying on any dimensions. PDF output is vector, but your printer can still rescale it.
What changes when I choose New layout?
Number bingo and dice positions and novelty object positions use the layout reference. The illustration assets remain fixed. The same settings, reference and design revision recreate the same sheet. Keep the downloaded SVG or PDF to preserve an artwork revision. Rings, grids and regular geometric boards do not need randomisation.
Can I use these for other activities?
Suitable designs can serve archery or laser practice where the venue permits it. The games also work with pens or tabletop markers and no projectile equipment. Choose a design appropriate to your activity and do not treat this printable as equipment-specific safety instruction.
Can I save a PDF or vector file?
Yes. Print / Save PDF uses the browser's PDF destination. Download SVG saves a standalone vector file with explicit millimetre dimensions. No sign-up is needed.
