About 3D Studio
Functional 3D-printable parts: brackets, boxes, spacers, knobs, enclosures, mounts, bolts and nuts. Start from solid shapes (box, cylinder, cone, sphere, torus, tube, wedge, pyramid, prism, star, arch), mark any shape as a hole, and combine them: the solids are joined into one single solid and the holes are cut away in one step, the way Tinkercad works.

Design 3D-printable parts in your browser: combine shapes and holes, type exact dimensions in mm or inches, add real screw threads, turn 2D sketches into solids, and export watertight STL or 3MF. Free.
How to use
- Pick a shape from the left panel. It lands on the print bed beside anything already there, in its own colour.
- Type exact sizes in the panel on the right: width, depth, height, diameter. Units can be millimetres, centimetres or inches, and fractions such as 3/8 work.
- Move, rotate or scale with the handles (G, R, S). Shapes snap to the grid, to the bed and flush against neighbouring shapes; hold Shift to move freely.
- To cut a hole, set a shape to Hole (or press H), select it together with a solid (Shift+click or Ctrl+A) and press Combine (Ctrl+G). The result is one single solid; press Separate any time to change the pieces.
- Need a screw thread? Add a Thread or a Tapped hole and choose the standard, such as M8 or 1/4-20. Tapped holes include printing clearance so a printed bolt fits.
- For custom outlines, draw them in the 2D Sketch Pad and press Send to 3D to extrude or revolve them. The part updates when you edit the sketch.
- Check the size and watertight status in the design panel, then export STL or 3MF and open it in your slicer.
Frequently asked questions
What can I design with the 3D Studio?
Functional 3D-printable parts: brackets, boxes, spacers, knobs, enclosures, mounts, bolts and nuts. Start from solid shapes (box, cylinder, cone, sphere, torus, tube, wedge, pyramid, prism, star, arch), mark any shape as a hole, and combine them: the solids are joined into one single solid and the holes are cut away in one step, the way Tinkercad works. Flatten to solid bakes a finished part into one fixed solid.
Are the exported files print-ready?
Yes. Every combined part is computed with the manifold modeling kernel, which produces closed, watertight meshes, so slicers such as PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer and Cura do not need to repair them. The design panel shows the part size, volume and a watertight check before you export.
Can I type exact dimensions?
Yes. Every size, position and angle is a typed field that accepts millimetres, centimetres or inches, including fractions like 3/8 or 1 1/2in. Shapes stay editable after combining: press Separate and every original dimension is still there.
Can it make screw threads?
Yes. Add a thread and pick a standard: ISO metric M2 to M30, UNC from #4-40 to 1-8, or common 60 degree specialty threads such as the 1/4-20 camera tripod thread, garden hose and Presta or Schrader valves. Use it as a bolt, or as a tapped hole with adjustable print clearance (0.2 mm by default) so a printed bolt fits. Left-hand threads and chamfered ends are supported.
Can I turn a 2D sketch into a 3D part?
Yes. Draw a closed outline in the free 2D Sketch Pad, holes included, and press Send to 3D. Extrude it straight up (with optional taper and twist) or revolve it around the vertical axis like a lathe. The part stays linked to the sketch: edit the sketch and the 3D part updates.
Which file formats can I export and import?
Export STL (works in every slicer) or 3MF (keeps real millimetre units and a colour per part), or download the design file to keep editing later. You can import STL files and open designs made in the classic Shape Builder (.skl files).
Is my work saved, and does it leave my computer?
The modeling runs entirely in your browser; your models are not uploaded. The design autosaves in your browser so a reload brings it back, and you can save named designs or download the design file.
