Free printable beginning sounds worksheets for Pre-K, kindergarten and grade 1. Each picture is something a young child can name: a sun, a cat, a kite. The child says the name, listens for the first sound and circles the letter it starts with, or writes it in the box. Work through the letters in the order most phonics programs teach them, starting with s a t p i n, or mix all of them. Every sheet has an answer key, and New pictures makes a fresh sheet with the same settings.
How to use
- Choose Circle the first sound (three letters to choose from), Write the first letter, or Some of each.
- Pick the Letters your child is learning: s a t p i n first, then m d g o c k, and so on, or all letters for review.
- Choose lowercase or capital letters, and tick Print the word under each picture if you want the words shown.
- Press Print worksheet. Print the answer key separately or both together.
