A free printable weekly newsletter for families, on one page. Fill in what your class is learning in reading, writing, math and one more subject, the homework for each day (with tick boxes and a line for a family signature if you want them), this week's spelling words for one or two groups, important dates, reminders, a short note and your contact details. Add a link to your class page and a QR code prints next to it. The newsletter is saved in your browser as you type, so next week you only change what is new.

How to use

  1. Click any text on the newsletter and type over it: the heading, your name, each subject, each day's homework, the words, the dates and the note. Grey hints show where to type; they never print.
  2. Above the page, pick the week, a colour (or black and white for photocopies) and which Sections to show, and turn the tick boxes and family signature line on or off.
  3. Pick a weekly Spelling words list by grade and pattern, or type your own words straight into the box, and tick Two spelling groups if your class has two levels.
  4. Add dates, reminders, a note and your contact details, plus a class link for the QR code. Print it, or use Copy link or Add to workbook to make it the first page of this week's homework packet.

Frequently asked questions

Will I have to type everything again next week?

No. The newsletter is saved in your browser as you type, so next time you open the page it starts from last week's. Change the week, the homework and the spelling words, and print. Start a blank newsletter clears every field if you want a fresh start.

Can the newsletter show two spelling groups?

Yes. Pick a weekly list (or choose My own words), then tick Two groups. Each group gets its own name and list, printed side by side. The weekly lists are the same ones as the spelling practice worksheets, so the words on the newsletter match the practice pages and the Friday test.

What does the QR code link to?

Whatever link you type in the Class link box: a class website, a Google Classroom page, or a share link to this week's workbook. Families scan it with a phone camera. The QR code is made in your browser, and nothing you type is uploaded.

Can I put the newsletter in a homework packet?

Yes. Press Add to workbook and it becomes a page in a printable workbook, so the newsletter, the worksheets and the spelling practice print together. The newsletter has no answer key, so the workbook's teacher copy only holds the worksheets' keys.
