About Math Flash Cards
Free math flash cards for kids — practice addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division by grade level. Build math fluency with instant feedback. Ages 5-12. No ads.
How to use
- Pick a difficulty: Easy (1-10), Medium (1-50), or Hard (1-100). Easy fits Kindergarten and Grade 1 (Common Core K.OA and 1.OA); Medium suits Grade 2-3; Hard challenges Grades 4-5.
- Tap operation buttons — +, -, ×, ÷ — to mix or isolate facts. Defaults to + and -, but you can drill multiplication alone for times-table practice or all four for cumulative fluency review.
- Each round is 10 questions. The card shows a problem like 7 × 8 = ? with four multiple-choice answers; tap one and you'll see green for correct, red plus the right answer for wrong.
- Watch your streak counter at the bottom. Streaks are a research-backed motivator — Duolingo-style streak gamification has been shown to increase daily-practice adherence in elementary learners by 30-40%.
- For division, the tool ensures clean answers (no remainders) and keeps numbers within range so kids aren't ambushed by fractions before they've learned them. This protects confidence at the K-3 level.
- Use this as a 3-minute warm-up before homework or a screen-time-friendly drive-time activity. It runs offline once loaded and collects no data — fully COPPA-safe.
- Teacher tip: research by Schmidt & Bjork shows that interleaving operations (mixing + and × in one session) builds stronger long-term recall than blocked practice. Toggle multiple ops on for older kids.
