About Kids Music Synth
A friendly music synth for kids — rainbow piano keys, 8 silly sound presets, and one-tap recording. Make songs, download them as audio files, share with family. No ads, no sign-up.
How to use
- Pick one of four wave-shape sounds at the top: 🌈 Smooth (sine — soft, flute-like), 🤖 Buzzy (square — vintage video-game), 🔔 Soft (triangle — mellow xylophone), or 🚀 Bright (sawtooth — sharp synth lead). Each gives the same notes a totally different feel.
- Tap the seven rainbow keys to play notes C, D, E, F, G, A, B — that's one full octave of the C major scale, the friendliest scale for beginners because every key sounds 'right' together.
- Use the octave +/− buttons to shift the keys up or down. Octave 4 is the middle of the piano (your normal singing range); Octave 6 sounds high and twinkly, Octave 2 sounds deep and bassy.
- Adjust the 🔊 volume slider to fit the room — start around 50% and turn down if a younger child is using headphones.
- Try playing 'Mary Had a Little Lamb' using just three keys: E-D-C-D-E-E-E (orange-yellow-red-yellow-orange-orange-orange). It's the gentlest possible intro to melody-making.
- Switch wave shapes mid-song to compare timbres — same notes, different instruments. This teaches the difference between pitch (which note) and timbre (the character of the sound), a core music-theory concept usually introduced in Grade 3.
- Runs entirely in your browser using Web Audio synthesis — no downloads, no sign-up, no ads. The big 60-pixel-plus rainbow keys and emoji-labeled buttons are designed for kids ages 4 and up, including pre-readers.
