Golf is a card game for 2 to 4 players where, like real golf, the lowest score wins. Each player has six cards face down in two rows of three and turns two of them up. On your turn you take the top discard or draw from the stock and swap it for one of your cards, trying to keep low cards and make pairs: two cards of the same rank in one column cancel to zero. When someone has all six cards face up, everyone else gets one last turn and the hole is scored. Play nine holes against one to three computer players; the full printable Golf rules and a score sheet are here too.
How to play Golf
- Pick how many computer players you want (one to three) and press New game. A game is nine holes, or three for a quick game.
- Tap two of your face-down cards to turn them face up. Low cards and pairs are what you want.
- On your turn, take the top card of the discard pile or draw from the stock.
- Tap one of your six cards to swap the new card in. The card you replace goes face up on the discard pile.
- If you drew from the stock and do not want the card, discard it, and you may turn one of your face-down cards up.
- When any player has all six cards face up, everyone else gets one final turn. Then every card is turned up and scored.
- Scores: Ace 1, Two minus 2, Three to Ten face value, Jack and Queen 10, King 0. A pair of the same rank in one column scores 0. After nine holes the lowest total wins.

Strategy tips
- Keep Kings and Twos: a King is worth 0 and a Two takes 2 points off.
- Build column pairs. Two Queens in one column score 0, which is better than a Queen and an Ace.
- Count a face-down card as about 6 points when deciding whether to swap.
- Watch the discard pile: a player who takes a 7 is probably building a pair of 7s, so do not throw them another one.
- Do not rush to turn up your last card when you are behind on the hole: the others still get a turn to improve.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the same as Golf Solitaire?
No. Golf Solitaire is a one-player game of clearing cards from a layout. This is the multi-player card game, often called 6-card Golf, where each player tries to finish holes with the lowest score.
Does a pair of Twos count minus 4?
No. Any pair of the same rank in one column scores 0, including Twos. A single Two is worth minus 2, so it is often better to keep a Two on its own.
Do I have to turn a card over when I discard?
If you drew from the stock and discard that card, you may turn one of your face-down cards up. It is your choice, but it brings the end of the hole closer.
What happens when someone turns up their last card?
Every other player gets one more turn, then all cards are turned up and the hole is scored. The player who went out does not get a bonus, so going out with a high score can backfire.
How many holes is a game?
Nine, like a short round of golf. Choose the quick game for three holes.
