A busy session of small upgrades. Four new printables — Counting Money (Grades 1–3, US + Canadian coins), Sight Words Tracing (Dolch Pre-K to Grade 1, three-line ruled), Lined Writing Paper (K / Grade 1 / Grade 2 row heights, portrait or landscape), and a Weekly Habit Tracker. Tax Centre now has a Cash / Accrual toggle — switch between "count revenue when paid" and "count revenue when invoiced" for HST/GST and owner income tax. Project / job invoicing is sharper — bills from a project recycle the project's invoice number with a suffix (INV-0024, INV-0024-2, INV-0024-3…) so all bills on the same project group cleanly. Duplicate invoice numbers are now blocked at save time across every entry point (Sales, Estimates, project bills, standalone-job bills). The send flow consolidates three toasts into one that morphs through "sending in 5s… → sending… → sent" with a Cancel button during the countdown. Client profiles now show real Invoiced / Paid / Outstanding totals (previously stuck at $0). Owner-operator hours no longer show as a burdened labor cost on project rollups. Plus a long list of smaller polish — address fields heal across legacy field-name drift, the global header trims to a 5-item primary nav with a "More" dropdown, sale-page bulk-confirm dialogs added, and the favicon refresh is now everywhere.

A refinement to today's earlier trial-model update: estimates, contracts, proposals, and receipts no longer count against your free trial. A typical small-business owner sends 5-10 estimates to land one paid job — if estimates counted, you could burn your whole trial in a week without ever sending an invoice. So we cut them from the counted list entirely. The trial now fires only at the revenue-realization moment: sending an invoice, committing a payroll run, generating a tax or P&L report, or sending an employee invite. This is the industry norm (Wave, Square, FreshBooks, Invoice Simple all leave estimates unlimited even on free tiers) and matches how the trial should feel: free to set up, free to win business, then the trial counts when you've actually earned. Same numbers — 10 actions for Business, 15 for Pro — they're just narrower and more honest about what they cover.

We replaced the calendar-based "30 days" trial with a client-facing-action trial — fairer for the way real businesses use the app. The trial is now auto-granted on sign-up (no credit card, no button to find): Business plans get 10 free client-facing actions, Business Pro gets 15. A client-facing action is something a paying customer would do — sending an invoice, estimate, contract, or receipt; committing a payroll run; generating a tax/HST or P&L report; sending an employee invite. Setting up your business is free and unlimited from day one — clients, expenses, employees, inventory, catalog, jobs, vehicles, mileage trips — none of it touches your trial. If you don't subscribe after the trial actions run out, your account quietly drops to the free tier with all your setup data intact. Pricing, business, help, index, and the FAQ all now explain this clearly instead of saying "X actions" vaguely.

A round of polish across the app. Keyboard and screen-reader users can now move through every dialog, the search box, the invoice editor, and the context switcher properly — focus stays where it belongs, Esc closes, and Tab no longer wanders off behind the panel. The Settings page is tighter and easier to scan, and the Plans screen now shows every plan at a glance with your current one clearly marked, instead of hiding options.

Business Settings now has a "How Clients Pay You" section — switch on the ways you accept payment (Interac e-Transfer, cheque, bank transfer, or anything else) and fill in the details once. Every invoice you send then shows a clear "How to pay" block, so a client always knows exactly how to settle up — no ToolFluency account needed, no chasing you for your e-transfer address. It prints with the invoice too, for anyone who likes a paper copy. Credit-card payments are on the way as a separate option.

An invoice you send is no longer a dead-end PDF. When your client opens it — from the emailed link or from their own ToolFluency inbox — they now get real actions: Pay now records the payment and notifies you to confirm it landed, and business clients get Approve & send to payroll, which approves the invoice and emails their payment person that a bill is ready. A client without a ToolFluency account sees a "Sign up to pay this" prompt — the invoice then drops straight into their inbox. You stay in the loop the whole way: you're notified when a client views, approves, or pays. Whether a client sees the payroll option is driven by their client type (Residential clients just pay; Commercial / contractor clients get the approval step), so the workflow fits households and businesses alike.

Opening a job no longer slides out a narrow side panel — it now opens a full-page workspace, the same clean layout projects got, with Overview, Time & Labor, and Files tabs. The Overview tab carries the job's status, progress, client, address, dates and scope of work; Time & Labor breaks down logged hours, labor cost, billable revenue and margin per employee; Files is the job's own photo and document library. Navigation flows both ways now: a job inside a project's workspace opens straight into that job's workspace, and a job's project chip takes you back to the project — no dead ends. Behind the scenes, projects and jobs now share one workspace engine, so every future tab lands in both places at once.

Every project in the Business Suite gets its own file library. Opening a project now shows a full-page workspace with Overview, Files, and Jobs tabs instead of a cramped side panel. The Files tab is a proper document and photo store — a thumbnail gallery for site photos and progress shots, a clean list for PDFs, contracts and spreadsheets, all viewable in-app without a download. Uploading is one click: pick your files and choose whether they belong to the project as a whole or to a specific job. A filter lets you narrow the library to any single job. And each job's own detail view surfaces just that job's files, so a crew lead can pull up the photos for the bathroom reno without scrolling past the whole project. Files open in the built-in viewer with photo carousels — no third-party tools, no leaving the app.

ToolFluency started life oriented toward Canadian contractors, and that showed up in defaults and dropdowns. We've made the whole Business Suite industry-neutral: expense categories and catalog units are now free-type fields that fit a bakery, consultancy, retail shop or freelancer just as well as a trade — with trade options still one keystroke away. Country handling caught up too: state/province dropdowns now switch correctly between Canada and the US, tax-rate fields no longer pre-fill Ontario's 13%, and the Tax Centre relabels itself (HST/GST ↔ Sales Tax, CRA ↔ IRS) based on your country. Mileage estimates use the right per-km/mile rate for Canada or the US. The P&L statement also classifies Cost of Goods correctly for non-trade businesses — a fix that previously mis-stated gross margin for any shop whose costs weren't named like a contractor's.

New Telling Time worksheet generator ships with five difficulty modes (hour, half-hour, quarter, 5-minute, to-the-minute) covering Grades 1-3. The hour hand moves proportionally with minutes — at 3:30 it sits halfway between 3 and 4, not glued to 3. Most static-image worksheet PDFs get this wrong and teach kids an inaccurate mental model that breaks when reading a real clock. We generate the clock face as crisp SVG every time so the hour-hand math is always correct. Aligned with CCSS 1.MD.B.3 / 2.MD.C.7 / 3.MD.A.1, Ontario 1-3.E2.1, WNCP 1.SS.3 / 2.SS.5 / 3.SS.1. The worksheet engine now has a renderClock SVG primitive joining the fraction-bar / number-line / pie primitives — future visual math tools can reuse it. Math hub at 14 tools.

The Free Tools directory got a major UX upgrade research-backed by NN/g + Baymard layout studies. Visual categories (printables now, creative + games + kids coming) render as a card grid with real screenshot thumbnails — see what each worksheet looks like before you click. Utility categories (calculators, converters, business) keep their dense list rows with band-tinted category-color icons. Filter chips persist in the URL — landing on a tool from Google and clicking "Back to Printables" returns you to the filtered view, not a blank list. A new "Just used [Tool] → See more in [Category]" banner appears above the chip row when you arrive from a tool page. Category headers got colored left-borders (money/build/make/life bands) for fast scanning across 311+ tools.

All 14 math worksheets now reference both US Common Core (CCSS) and Canadian provincial curricula: Ontario 2020 (B1, B2, C2 codes), WNCP (Alberta, BC, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Atlantic provinces), and Quebec PFEQ Cycle 2. Key callout for Canadian parents and teachers: multiplication fluency lands one grade later in Canada (Ontario 3.B2.2 is just 2s/5s/10s; full 9×9 is Grade 4). The 2s & 5s anchor facts worksheet is a direct match for Ontario's Grade 3 expectation. Built in Ontario, aligned to the curriculum your kids' teachers actually use.

Three new math worksheets shipped: fractions with visual models (fraction bars, number lines, 5 question types — a genuine competitor gap, no free generator with real visuals exists), place value & rounding (4 question types covering CCSS 3.NBT.A.1 / Ontario 3.B1.3), and addition with regrouping (every problem guaranteed to require carrying — targets the independent SEO keyword). All three are CCSS + Canadian curriculum dual-cited (Ontario 2020, WNCP for AB/BC/SK/MB/Atlantic). Math hub now at 13 tools. Worksheet engine extended with SVG visual primitives (fraction bars, number lines, pies) so future visual worksheets can reuse the same system.

Brand-new printables area launched today. The math hub at /printables/education/math/ ships with 10 worksheet generators covering Grades 1-4 arithmetic. New today: addition (K-G4, configurable digit count + regrouping), subtraction (with-borrowing toggle), division (basic facts, remainders, long division). Joins the existing 7 multiplication tools. Every worksheet is CCSS-aligned, generates fresh problems on demand, prints to a single page no matter how many problems you choose, and includes a one-click answer key. The seed system means a teacher can print 30 student copies and 1 matching answer key from a single URL. Coming next per the ROI research brief: fractions worksheets, place value, telling time.

The old "15 saves shared across every tool" cap meant one prolific tool could drain the budget for every other one. We replaced it with a per-tool system: 2 saves for complex creative tools (Game Builder Pro, Sketch Pad, Shape Builder, Voxel Builder, Tileset Maker, etc.), 3 for medium-complexity tools (pixel art, palettes, flashcards, favicons), and 5 for quick-utility tools (calculator scenarios, productivity savers, dev-tools). Games share a 3-save resume-state pool. Anonymous users get the same caps but hit a "sign up free to keep saving" prompt — Personal Plus ($5/mo) removes every save limit on all 155+ free tools. Existing saves are never deleted; only new creates pause when you hit the cap. Pricing FAQ updated.

Kids Zone now teaches reading alongside math — 63 skills across Kindergarten through Grade 5, tagged to the Ontario Language Curriculum 2023 and Common Core ELA standards. Every grade covers the full reading rope: phonological awareness (rhyming, syllables, phoneme blending), phonics (letter sounds, digraphs, silent-e, vowel teams, r-controlled, multisyllable decoding), sight words (Dolch pre-primer through third-grade), fluency (sentences and passages), vocabulary (basic nouns through Greek/Latin roots and idioms), and comprehension (story retell, main idea, inference, theme, text structure, point of view). Kids pick math or reading from the dashboard subject pill. Practice, Chill, and Quest all serve reading questions; TTS reads prompts aloud for K/G1 but NEVER the target decoding word (pedagogy rule). Parent dashboard gets a Math|Reading tab on the mastery grid plus a reading-specific readiness metric. Built on a shared content library (103 picture nouns, 17 micro-passages across 5 Lexile tiers, 4 non-fiction pieces, 12 Greek/Latin roots, 12 idioms, 10 metaphors + personifications, 220 Dolch words). Pressure modes (Speed Drill, Survival, Falling) stay math-only until a dedicated reading-fluency engine ships in a later phase.

Challenge Mode presents Grade 3 multi-step word problems through friendly characters (Carlos the orchard-keeper, Mei the librarian, Tomi the party planner). Each challenge chains 3 connected problems that require chaining previously-learned skills. Three hint levels: nudge reframe, bar-model diagram, worked partial. No timer, no score, no hearts — fully non-punitive. Only appears when a kid has practised the relevant skills. Stars can only go up. Mastery writes with mode:'boss' tagging; fluent → mastered advancement enabled per charter.

Story Mode is the introduction pillar of the ToolFluency Kids platform. Characters like Mia, Leo, and Sam guide children through math concepts embedded in short picture-book adventures (4-7 min each). Every word is narrated aloud with synchronized word highlighting for pre-readers. Questions are answerable from pictures and audio alone — no reading required. Wrong answers never block story progression. No score or stars visible anywhere. Ships with 3 launch stories covering K-2 math (addition within 5, place value tens, multiplication as equal groups). All mastery writes go through the shared KidsMathEngine spine with mode:'story' tagging.

Brand-new employer week view with one row per day (Sun-Sat) that expands to show all scheduled employees. Click any employee and a right-side detail panel shows their shift, per-job breakdown, and per-task logged hours cross-referenced from their timesheet. Navigate weeks via arrows or a calendar picker (opens inside the detail panel). Live filter by employee, job, or project. Approve or reject timesheets directly from the panel with one click. Employees get the same day/shift view as a combined "schedule + timesheet" modal: check off tasks, log hours per task, add their own tasks or unscheduled jobs, submit with an optional "day complete" flag. Future days show read-only with request-change actions (time off, swap, other). Half-hour step native time pickers with manual entry.

New Family pricing tier sits between Personal Plus and Business — unlimited child accounts, Kid Codes (picture-based passcode sign-in), parent dashboard with progress/screen-time/challenge areas, daily time limits, chore and allowance tracking. Dedicated Kids Dashboard page: pick a child, see their XP, streak, subject progress donut, weak-area callouts, recent activity timeline, and a full Kid Code Manager with reset / remove / sign-in instructions. Family Code banner with one-click copy.

Critical fix: employees in Work mode were silently saving hours to the wrong business (their own personal default instead of their employer's). Context switching now properly updates the bizId everywhere. Also fixed notifications and employer data leaking across accounts when signing out — signing out now clears employer links, in-memory user state, and closes the notifications panel.

People page now adapts to your context. Business shows Clients, Employees, and Vendors. Personal becomes your address book with family, friends, and contacts. Work shows a read-only directory of coworkers. Each context has its own data, tabs, and actions.

Settings now opens to your current context tab. New personal profile with name and address (browser autofill). Expanded measurement units — driving distance, height, weight, temperature, volume, and area can be set independently. 3-position mode toggle: Light, Auto (time-based), and Dark. Font size setting now works (compact, default, comfortable).

Every free tool now has keyword-optimized meta descriptions, Open Graph tags, Twitter cards, JSON-LD structured data, FAQ content, and internal cross-linking to related tools. Canadian-specific context included for business tools.

Fixed black screen after signing out (optimistic auth state not clearing). Dashboard now correctly refreshes when switching contexts. Bottom nav updates per context — Sales for Business, Budget for Personal, Timesheet for Work. Empty states centered across all pages.

Employers schedule shifts with a split-pane timeline editor featuring task checklists, bulk assign, and publish notifications. Employees see their schedule as a clean table, check off tasks, log time, and submit timesheets directly from their shift view.

Bill projects based on job progress with delta tracking. New Vendors tab in People for suppliers and subcontractors. Expenses support billable flag with configurable markup. Job and project detail views show labor cost breakdowns.

Fixed notification delivery (Firebase SDK version mismatch across 13 files), employee onboarding flow works end-to-end, employer link auto-restores on login, notification bell visible on mobile with centered panel.

Every list table (invoices, expenses, jobs, people, timesheets, inventory, and more) now renders as clean, tappable cards on mobile instead of horizontal-scrolling tables. Two-column layout: primary info left, amount/badge right.

A context-aware action button floats at the bottom of every list page on mobile. It changes label per page and tab — "+ New Invoice" on Sales, "+ Add Employee" on People, "+ Create Shift" on Schedule.

Saved documents now open in a clean read-only preview with Send and Edit buttons. Send slides in email/message fields alongside the live document. All three modes toggle freely. Mobile shows the scaled document with action buttons at the bottom.

When a business invites an employee, they receive an in-app notification with "Complete Onboarding" and "Decline" actions. Adding an employee now creates the record and sends the invite in one step.

New employees fill in their own details — preferred name, address, emergency contact, work preferences, certifications, and policy acknowledgment. No sensitive data collected. Employers see a "Pending" badge until onboarding is complete.

Timesheets and Schedule are now combined into a single "Time Management" page with tabs. One hero with overview KPIs, two tabs of content. Available in both Business and Work contexts.
