How an online voice changer works
A voice changer takes the sound of your voice and re-shapes it: higher, lower, robotic or spooky. This one does all of that right inside your browser, so your voice never gets uploaded anywhere. Here is what the controls are actually doing.
Pitch, voice character and speed
Speeding a recording up raises its pitch, which is the old tape trick behind cartoon voices: but it also makes you talk faster and shrinks the sound of your mouth and throat. This voice changer separates the three. Pitch moves how high or low you sound without changing the length of the clip. Voice character changes the apparent size of the speaker (the resonances that make a vowel sound like a vowel), which is what turns an adult voice into a kid or a giant. Speed is its own slider. With "Keep the voice natural" on, a deeper or higher voice still sounds like a person; switch it off and you get chipmunk and monster.
Robot, alien and metal: ring modulation and comb filters
The robot voice multiplies your voice by a steady low tone (ring modulation), which chops it into a mechanical buzz. The alien adds a volume wobble (tremolo) on top. The metal robot voices feed a very short echo back into itself, so it rings like a pipe. A second copy of your voice, pitched an octave down, is what makes possessed sound like two beings at once.
Echo, rooms, phones and 8-bit
Echo is a delay that repeats and fades. Small room, cathedral and cave run your voice through a simulated space of different sizes. Telephone, walkie-talkie and megaphone cut the low and high ends and add a little distortion to mimic a small speaker. The retro 8-bit voices lower the number of steps each sound sample can take and how often it updates, the way old game consoles stored sound.
Live, and why every control is instant
All of these effects sit in one chain that is always running, and a voice is just a set of positions for its sliders. That is why tapping a voice or dragging a slider changes the sound straight away, while your recording loops or while you talk in Live mode, with no apply button and no wait. The file you download is made by the same chain, so it matches what you heard.
Private by design
Your microphone audio is captured as raw samples and processed entirely on your device. Nothing is sent to a server, there is no account, and the download is an uncompressed WAV that works in every audio and video editor. A voice link you copy holds only the slider settings, never your recording. That in-browser privacy is the big difference between this and cloud-based AI voice changers.

How to use

How do I change my voice to a robot, demon, or chipmunk?
Record your voice or upload a clip, then tap a voice pad: Robot is under Sci-fi, Demon under Scary and Chipmunk under Fun. It changes while the clip plays. Tap Download to save it.
Can I make my voice deeper or higher and still sound natural?
Yes. Pitch, voice character and speed are three separate controls, so a deeper voice does not play slower, and the Keep the voice natural switch keeps the vowels sounding like a real person. Turn it off for cartoon voices such as Chipmunk.
Is my voice recording private?
Yes. Everything runs in your browser. Your recording and the changed voice never leave your device and are never uploaded. Unlike AI voice changers, there is no cloud processing.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes, in current mobile browsers (Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android). The layout folds into one column and the sliders tuck under Fine-tune. On some iPhones the WAV download opens in a new tab.
Can I use this for Discord, Zoom or games?
Not as a microphone: a web page cannot feed audio into Discord, Zoom or games. Live mode lets you hear your changed voice in headphones as you talk, and you can record a clip, change it and send or share the file.
Can I get the same line in several voices?
Yes. Open Many voices at once along the bottom, tick up to 12 voices and download them together as one zip. It is handy for game characters or a group of friends.
Can I download the changed voice?
Yes. Choose WAV for an uncompressed file that works in every audio and video editor (roughly 5 to 6 MB per minute), or MP3 for a much smaller file that is easy to send. The MP3 is made on your device too.
