About Challenge Mode
Free multi-step math challenges for Grade 3. Help Carlos, Mei, and Tomi solve real problems using what you already know. No timer. No stress. Hints always available. Ontario and Common Core aligned.
How to use
- Choose a Challenge Character from the list — only characters whose skills you have practised will be available.
- Read the character's story setup to understand what they need help with.
- Answer each step using the number keypad. Press 'Check my answer' when you're ready.
- Tap 'Hint' if you get stuck — there are three levels of hints that get more helpful each time.
- Finish all the steps to see the celebration and your skill progress.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to have done Practice Mode first?
Yes — Challenge Mode checks whether you have practised the relevant skills. Characters whose skills you haven't practised yet will appear locked.
What if I can't answer a step even with all the hints?
After the Level 3 hint, the answer is shown and the challenge continues. You can always finish the full challenge.
Can I replay a challenge?
Yes! Every completed challenge can be replayed with new numbers. Mastery credit still applies on replays.
